Our new waste treatment facility and associated landfi ll were brought online during the year to service Angolan oil and gas operations in the northern blocks. The new facility provides large cost benefi ts while ensuring responsible operation following international best practice in waste management.

More than 60 staff were hired and integrated into the Soyo business unit. The majority of new hires were local with 90% of employees being Angolan. The new facility will serve as an important tool for local sustainable development in Soyo, where several key national projects in the oil and gas industry are currently being developed.
